Case Study: RSPCA

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) is the leading animal welfare charity. Their mission statement is “The RSPCA as a charity will, by all lawful means, prevent cruelty, promote kindness to and alleviate suffering of all animals”. The RSPCA employs 288 inspectors, 119 animal welfare officers and 74 animal collection officers who last year investigated 141,280 cruelty complaints and rescued and collected 135,293 animals. However, an organisation the size of the RSPCA cannot operate efficiently and effectively without excellent management and leadership. In 2010 the RSPCA commissioned Syder and Young Ltd to develop and deliver a schedule of leadership and management qualification programmes accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM). Over the next two years we shall be delivering:
  • Level 7 Award and Diploma in Strategic Leadership and Executive Management
  • Level 5 Award, Certificate and Diploma in Leadership and Management
  • Level 4 Certificate in Leadership and Management
  • Level 5 Certificate in Management Coaching and Mentoring (in order to develop the internal resource)
  • A series of 5-day residential training programmes for Chief Inspectors
At Syder and Young Ltd, we are absolutely delighted to be entrusted with this huge and important initiative for a major national charity. This is massive endorsement of our abilities to deliver not only high quality training, but also to handle larger scale development projects. To find out more about the RSPCA go to www.rspca.org.uk
