Our development programmes are carefully tailored to meet the needs of the Primary Care sector. Here are the details of the primary care specific programmes we run, plus information about upcoming courses.
Running a GP practice is no easy task, with a multitude of issues and problems to deal with on an everyday basis. How do you solve them? Our targeted development programmes come with an essential sector-specific context, but the leadership and management elements are relevant for any and every field.
We believe we’ve found the answer in this programme which is designed for Practice Managers and Deputies/Assistants with a desire to move on to a more senior role. This programme will be recognised by ILM and at the end of the course there will be a certificate from ILM. It won’t, however, be a nationally recognised qualification. This does mean of course there are no assignments and no exam.
The programme is delivered via 12 full day workshops over 24 to 30 months. It concentrates on topics in which, as a primary care manager, will be your priorities.

Receptionists and administrators are often promoted into supervisory positions, moving from one of the team to leading the team. This short programme gives Senior Receptionists, Assistant or Deputy Practice Managers, Office Managers and more the skills and confidence to make a smooth and successful transition. Successful candidates are awarded the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Level 3 Award in Leadership and Management.
Our next Level 3 Award will commence in October 2018 in West Sussex.

Syder & Young Ltd have created a new 3-day management and leadership development programme specifically for Lead Practice Nurses. The content of the programme is designed to equip delegates with the skills and knowledge required in leading a team.
Each of the 3 workshops will cover two subject areas (see below) and all sessions will be led by Pauline Young, Director, Syder & Young Ltd.
